North Lanarkshire Half Marathon - Sunday 24th August 2025

Due to the North Lanarkshire Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 24th August, there will be many road closures around Motherwell, New Stevenston, Carfin and Holytown which means we will not be able to operate the 42 and 42A on a suitable diversion.

Instead, we will split the service into two sections; from the start of service in the morning until at least 13:00 in the afternoon.  Please note that the road re-opening times are not guaranteed, and diversions may continue until later in the afternoon.  

Larkhall buses will operate the normal route to and from Motherwell, terminating at West Hamilton Street.  Buses towards Larkhall will re-commence from West Hamilton Street.

Airdrie and Coatbridge buses will operate to and from Calderbank only.  The section of route between Calderbank and Motherwell town centre will not be operated during the period of the road closures.
